Thomas William Hayton

Tom litigates and advises on commercial disputes many of which concern construction, real estate development, copyright and trademark acquisition or infringement, and fair-trade practices.

Admissions

He practices in all Washington State and Federal District Courts, U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.   He is a member of the Washington and Washington D.C. Bars.

Employment History

He is a principal with Cutler Nylander & Hayton, P.S and previously was a shareholder at Schwabe Williamson, Ferguson & Burdell.  Before both of those, he was an Assistant Washington State Attorney General.

Education

Graduate: LL.M. (government contracts) with highest honors, George Washington University; J.D. Willamette University (law journal editor).

Undergraduate:  BA (English and Political Science) University of Washington.

Phil Cutler

For over 40 years, Phil Cutler has litigated and tried commercial and business cases in state and federal courts. For the last 30 years, as an adjunct to that practice he has mediated and arbitrated such cases privately and through the American Arbitration Association. His mediation and arbitration skills have earned him the respect of his peers and he has been recognized as a SuperLawyer® since 1999. He is now Of Counsel to the firm and limits his work to serving as mediator and arbitrator through Philip E. Cutler PLLC/CutlerADR.
